On 10th April 2024, Artcurial will hold its first sale of the year dedicated to comic strips. On this occasion, the Comic Strips department will auction a previously unseen selection of 49 works by Jacques Rouxel, the father of The Shadoks. These brightly coloured, cheekily humorous drawings are as modern as they are topical. The department also celebrates the 70th anniversary of Martine, Marcel Marlier’s famous heroine.

On 20th March 2024, Artcurial’s Old Master & 19th Century Art department will hold its prestige spring sale, featuring an exceptional marble sculpture by Antonio Canova entitled Head of Calliope or Presumed portrait of Marie-Louise of Habsburg, Empress of the French as Calliope.

Artcurial Motorcars presents The W Collection: From Stockholm to Monaco, one of the most important private cars collections in Europe, which will be auctioned on 9 May 2024 in Monaco, ahead of the Grand Prix Historique. Estimated at around €35 million, this exceptional collection of 55 rare classic cars recounts the passion of a Swedish aesthete driven by a profound love of cars and aesthetics. The collector has decided to sell his entire collection, with no reserve price.

On the upcoming 2nd and 3rd of February, during the Rétromobile show, Artcurial Motorcars will showcase the most awaited collector car auction of the year. On February 2nd, 131 cars will be presented; the following day, February 3rd, 21 motorcycles will be auctioned just before the traditional Automobilia sale.

The Monaco Auction Week sales, held at the Hôtel Hermitage in Monte-Carlo, were a resounding success, with Artcurial’s Watches, Jewellery and Hermès & Luxury Bags. Under the hammers of Stéphane Aubert and Geoffroy Ader, the 5 successive sales totalled €9,101,772.

Over €2.2M for the Furniture & Works of Art Sale

On 13th and 14th December, the Furniture & Works of Art department held its final sales session of the year, auctioning more than 400 lots from prestigious historic provenances. The sales totalled €2,251,556, with 84% of lots sold, the second-highest result for the department since its creation.

On 5th and 6th December, Artcurial will be holding its major Impressionist & Modern Art, Post-War & Contemporary and Twenty One Contemporary auctions. The Modern Art section will highlight some truly outstanding works by Kees Van Dongen, René Magritte and Fernando Botero, as well as an exquisite bronze by Edgar Degas. The Post-War & Contemporary auction will present “Piazza San Marco al sole”, a work by Lucio Fontana from his Venice series, as well as works by Anna-Eva Bergmann, Antoni Tàpies and Jean-Paul Riopelle. The Twenty One Contemporary sale will feature works by artists such as Dran, Claire Tabouret, Tadashi Kawamata, Kaws, Xavier Veilhan, Zanele Muholi and Godwin Champs Namuyimba.
