Estimate: €30,000-40,000

On 16th May, the Antiquities & Islamic Arts department will present a sale of nearly 330 lots of archaeology, Islamic, and Indian art from several private collections, including the Brussels collection of Mr H., the Paris collection of Mrs V., the former Robert Blanchet collection, and the Edmonde Charles-Roux collection.

The sale will be divided into three chapters, beginning with the Brussels collection of Mr H., which pays tribute to Iran, from the origins of its history to the Islamic period.

Archaeology will then be honoured with several collections offering a broad panorama of Near Eastern antiquities, classical antiquity, and Egyptian archaeology.

The sale will close with a section dedicated to the arts of Islam and India, notably the Edmonde Charles-Roux collection, journalist and woman of letters, daughter of Ambassador François Charles-Roux (1879-1961), French ambassador to Constantinople, and then Cairo.
