Immerse yourself into the venetian atmosphere with the furniture of the Hotel Bauer Palazzo

From 24 April to 4 May, Artcurial will present the furniture of the Hotel Bauer Palazzo, a famous Venetian palace. Through its Murano glassware, furniture, and silks from the Houses Rubelli and Bevilacqua, this sale of more than 4,000 lots celebrates the Venetian identity of this prestigious institution. From torchbearers (portes torchères) to tableware, enthusiasts as well as collectors can experience the essence of this historic landmark.

Haute Couture in the spotlight with Didier Ludot

On 26th January, during the Paris Haute Couture week, Artcurial, in collaboration with Christie's, presented Didier Ludot's collection entitled My Secret Fashion Show. The entire collection totalled €1,047,539 and achieved the best result for the sale of a vintage couture collection in France. The sale was greeted by numerous pre-emptions and purchases from prestigious cultural institutions and Haute Couture houses.

An Apartment overlooking the Seine: white gloves sale

On 25th November, Artcurial dispersed the collection of an amateur at the sale entitled An Apartment overlooking the Seine. Gathering Old Masters and Modern Paintings, Asian Art, Neoclassical Furniture and Silverware, the sale of the collection totalled nearly €2m with 100% of the lots sold under Stéphane Aubert’s hammer.

Among the works presented in the sale An Apartment overlooking the Seine, the collection of a Parisian amateur on November 25th, an exceptional pair of vases from the Qing dynasty stood out. Extremely rare, these two works bear the sigillary mark of the Qianlong emperor and belonged to Baron James de Rothschild.

On 25th November, Artcurial auctioned the private collection of a Parisian amateur. Among the highlights of the sale, a magnificent and rare pair of flask-form vases from the Qing dynasty, Qianlong mark and period (1736-1795), and previously owned by Baron James de Rothschild at the Château de Ferrières, was presented. Remarkable Chinese porcelains and enamels, elegant 18th century pieces of furniture and works of art and an exceptional set of drawings by Théophile Steinlen completed this unique collection.

On 25th October, Artcurial auctioned the unpublished collection of Robert William Burke (1948-2020), an American collector and gallery owner who was closely associated with Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly and Gilbert & George. His friendships and his taste for art gave rise to a collection of close to 300 works spanning several centuries of art history.

On 21st September, Artcurial auctioned two prestigious collections: the From Watteau to Vuillard sale brought together drawings, paintings, works of art and pieces of furniture that have remained in the same family since the first half of the 20th century, while the Château du Marais sale featured part of the collections of the eponymous chateau.

Art for helping others

On 16th September 2021, the Photo4food Foundation, in collaboration with Artcurial, organized a major charity auction to benefit associations fighting poverty in France. On this occasion, the world’s greatest photographers such as Mathieu César, Paolo Roversi, Pierre-Elie de Pibrac and Sebastião Salgado offered exceptional lots.
The funds collected were entirely used to support associations fighting against poverty in France (Restos du Cœur, Août Secours Alimentaire, Bagageries Solidaires 92, Le Chaînon Manquant, ect...).
