Under the direction of Marie Sanna-Legrand, with the collaboration of auctioneer Geoffroy Ader and consultant Gregory Blumenfeld, the Watches department brings together vintage and Haute Horlogerie enthusiasts from around the world twice a year for its sales at the Hôtel Hermitage in Monte Carlo.
A key player in the market for vintage sports and professional watches, the department has recorded the highest results for exceptional timepieces such as a Patek Philippe, ref. 1518 Big Arabic sold for €883,000 or an Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 sold for €708,480. In addition, the department selects historical timepieces or those with exceptional provenance, ranging from the Lip of Général de Gaulle to the highly desirable The Bull Collection.
Ladies’ watches are the subject of dedicated prestige sales. The auctions entitled Le Temps est Féminin have become a must-attend event revered by the fashion world. Black Mamba, a Bulgari wristwatch made in collaboration with Jaeger-LeCoultre, was sold for over €430,000. The appeal of wristwatches continues to grow, as evidenced by the successful sale of the attractive Property of a Lady collection in 2021 with 100% of the lots sold.
The department seeks out classic, vintage, modern and sports watches as well as big names in watchmaking such as Rolex, Cartier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Vacheron Constantin, Piaget and many others for its online sales, which take place throughout the year.
Artcurial’s specialists are at your disposal for free and confidential valuations of your sports, vintage or collector’s watches.
